R23 is my first rover that cannot be remote-controlled via the internet. I originally printed the vehicle from recycled plastic as a demonstration unit for my direct granule extruder, and later converted it into a tracked loader. The rover's "brain" is an Arduino GIGA WiFi. An Arduino UNO R4 WiFi or Uno Q could also be used, though the mounting points would need to be adjusted accordingly. Two continuous-rotation servos power the tracked loader, while a standard servo operates the arm and a mini-servo controls the excavator bucket.
A small circuit board with the connections for the servos is located on the underside.
The tracked loader is powered by a power bank: One output is used for the 4 servos, while the second output powers the Arduino GIGA. This allows the tracked loader to be operated for several hours.
To allow both children and those young at heart to operate the vehicle at future trade fairs, I have built a remote control unit. Its housing is also made from recycled plastic.
A second Arduino GIGA WiFi handles the transmission of control commands. The tracked loader can be operated using two joysticks, left over from my crane project. Teileliste:
